SmartLinx Launches Touchless Time Clocks that Deliver Safe and Secure Access to Skilled Nursing and Senior Living Facilities
New version of SmartLinx intelligent time clocks helps protect residents and employees from infection
ISELIN, N.J. (September 9, 2020) — SmartLinx – a leader in workforce management for post-acute care and senior living organizations – today introduced the SmartLinx Touchless Time Clock. This state-of-the-art time and attendance management system is purpose-built for long-term care, post-acute care, continuing care retirement communities, and assisted living operators.
With the number of COVID-19 cases rising in many states, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities are pursuing additional measures to safeguard the health of residents and staff. In addition to acquiring testing and PPE supplies, operators are looking for better ways to enforce official guidelines designed to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
“SmartLinx’s innovative SmartLinx Go app enables employees to access their personal information on their own devices. The recent addition of QR codes enables touchless communication with the time clock that will enable our staff to clock in and out without risking transmission of diseases through contaminated hands. Our healthcare heroes deserve everything we can do to protect them. We are thrilled SmartLinx is making this innovation available!” said Nancy Stoddard, Vice President of IT at The New Jewish Home.
Rather than manually punching in access codes or scanning their fingerprints before entering or leaving the facility, employees simply hold up a QR code on their mobile device. The Touchless Time Clock reads the QR code off the SmartLinx Go mobile app.
Generated on the SmartLinx Go mobile app, the QR code automatically transmits employee identity and punch type to the integrated SmartLinx workforce management system. SmartLinx Go works on iPhones and Android phones and is available in the Apple Store.
With the SmartLinx Touchless Time Clock, employees can also punch in and out of work six times faster than traditional electronic time clocks, thereby reducing long lines of employees waiting to clock in and out when the shifts change. Since the Touchless Time Clock connects directly with SmartLinx employee scheduling and attendance management software, it provides a faster and more secure way of tracking who is where, who punched in early, and who is late while streamlining employee operations processes.
SmartLinx Touchless Time Clocks provide:
Secured, fast access
- Enables employees to punch in with their mobile device, quickly generating a unique QR code
- Supports offline capture during network outages
Protection for residents and employees against infection
- Eliminates tangible contact with a high-touch device, preventing germs from entering facilities on employee hands
- Requires employees answer health screening questions before punching into work
Support for attendance policies that reduce fraud
- Prevents “buddy punching” by distributing unique QR codes encoded with employee demographics and time-sensitive clock in window
- Enforces scheduling rules for early arrivals and late departures
- Allows role assignment upon punch-out
“We’re proud to help post-acute care and senior living providers protect residents and employees from infection while providing the workforce management capabilities they need to deliver quality care and contain costs,” said James Pirraglia, SmartLinx Vice President of Product Strategy. “At SmartLinx, we believe in harnessing the power of real-time data to enable our customers to provide the best care possible while protecting residents.
